Description:
This offers for sale a SMITH & WESSON 22/32 KIT, MODEL OF 1953.  THIS GUN IS IN NEAR AS-NEW CONDITION.  The finish on the revolver is over 99.5%, there being, only, a barely perceptive and partial cylinder pin wear line and blue wear on the recoil plate from some firing of the revolver.   The revolver, SN 7747, produced in mid to late 1953 is as new as anyone might expect to find.  See the following information about the subject new series of "22/32 Kit Gun".

NOTE:
This is the same vintage "22/32 Kit Gun Model of 1953" offered elsewhere on this site and identified as "Pre-Model 1953 22/32 Kit Gun".  The Model was introduced in 1953, commencing with Serial Number 1.  The subject revolver was made in late 1953.

In 1953, a new series of Kit Guns was produced. The official designation was “22/32 Kit Gun, Model of 1953”. These differed from previous production in having a new “I” frame with a coiled main-spring and micro-click sights. They had 4 screws, coil mainsprings, larger trigger guards and larger grip frames like the new “J-frame” revolvers then being produced for personal defense purposes. This began a separate serial number series starting with number 101. This serial number series continued until October, 1968, when the serial numbers had progressed to number 136,465.
