Description:
Serial number is 299xxx, indicating production year of 1922. It as been completely refinished and refurbished and it appears was in the process of being fit to a particular shooter, the project never being completed. The engraving was done by Harold Hartell, with the fore end being carved and finished by his son. Beautiful stock, that appears to be the work of Wenig Custom Gunstocks. The rollover comb has been shaped, but was left unfinished. There are more than a few scuffs and scrapes to the buttstock, which would benefit greatly from a complete strip and refinish. The stock is slightly cast on. 30" barrel, fixed choke FULL, mirror bore. The reblue did soften lettering a mite, making the serial number on the front half hard to read. Old butt pad is worn, but still soft. Overall length is 49 5/8", weight is a hair under 9 lbs, LOP is 14 3/4". Certainly shootable as is, but needs some TLC and is priced right. $50 shipping to the lower 48, 3% surcharge for using a CC.
