Here is a Remington 1858 .44 cap and ball. Replaced wood grips and not much original finish but no deep pitting or roughness either. The bore is surpringly very nice. The only mechanical problem I can see it that (my guess) it needs a new hand. After the revolver is cocked the cylinder needs to be helped about 1/16th" to lock in place. Once locked in place it is tight. I would think this would be a quick fix for some one having a modicum of mechanical ability. (I wouldn't be included in that group.) This will make some one a good original shooter for a good price. As an antique it ships to you door in most states. Shipping and insurance included.
