EXCEPTIONAL SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1873 TRAPDOOR 45-70 CAL. RIFLE W/ORIG. BAYONET & SLING. 32 5/8th” BARREL. All original early issue with all the original as issued Model 1873 parts with no later Model arsenal upgrades. Original long wrist/short comb 1st issue stock. Serial number in the 27,xxx range. 1873 dated lock and breech block. 97-98% blue overall and all the stock finish with little wear. Most of the dark oil quenched case hardening on breech block. Ordnance “P” script proof behind trigger guard and light partial remnant cartouche on side panel. Excellent U.S. Model 1873 bayonet with all the blue. Original trapdoor sling in superb condition (best we have seen). Perfect working order and very good bright bore.
