Description:
This is a very good to excellent condition Model 1855-70 Bayonet with a US/IC marked 18" blade finished bright with light surface oxidation. The blade has no apparent damage with only light dings from use. The socket has an R on the side of the socket and has moderate oxidation. This bayonet has a leather and brass scabbard clearly marked "Wilkinson, Maker, Springfield MASS" and on the other side of the frog is marked Woodbury US ORD.DEP". This example is in very good to excellent condition with the exception of being bent at some point with some scuffs and tight stitching. Dose not effect the function of the scabbard. Excellent addition to any Civil War collection.
