Description:
This is a commercial set that has a rectangular slip-on cover for the rear ladder sight, and a friction-fit combination muzzle and front sight cover. The rear sight protector has a hinged, maroon baize-lined door that automatically opens when the sight is raised, and is marked: "PATENT / No. 8446 / MH or LM" (indicating that the rear sight cover can also be used on Martini-Henry rifles). The muzzle cover on the front sight protector is threaded and can be removed, while the actual protector can be slid forward and rotated out of the way. This is a rarely seen set, and is in excellent overall condition.
