It is a back action gun typical of the last quarter of the 19th century and was converted to rebounding hammers at some point in time. It has nice engraving on the locks, hammers, sidelever, forearm iron and frame. The gun was made by Fletcher as can be seen on the lockplates. The rib, however, is inscribed “Adams & Co. 52 Finsbury Pavement London”. Adams was a local London retailer and the gun was so marked in the practice of the time. A very nicely balanced and well made hammergun ideal for Vintager competitions or for a day afield. Weighs 6lb 13oz. *** Barrels were reproofed for nitro smokeless powders in Birmingham with 2-1/2” chambers and rated 3 Tons Per Square Inch.
