has pitting on receiver// works fine in dry fire// bore is excellent / /// butt plate has u.s. stamp/// has been converted to center fire / lots of history on what was done with these carbines / u.s. goverment owned guns were sold back to remington who probably changed caliber to 50-70 cf and sold to france in 1870 for franco -prussion war / solid stock with normal use for its age / made 1865/66// purchased by us during the civil war but probably not issued////the breach has an interlocking system the hammer has to be all the way back to open or closer action about 1/4 inch movement to rear $50sh //lots of different areas of interest for collectors here // missing rear sight
