Description:
The item for sale is a high condition Savage Model 99 prewar rifle chambered for the Savage 300 cartridge. It features a 24" barrel and an early crescent butt. The rifle is in very good condition as shown in the photos. The wood is free of dents, scratches, and cracks having apparently been nicely refinished. The metal is also in very good condition with original blue and very little blue loss. The action cycles as intended by Savage locking tightly. The bore has good lands / grooves and would improve with cleaning. There are no extra holes and the receiver has not been drilled for a scope mount. There are still nice original case colors on the lever. A scarce Savage 99 made in.1936.
