Made in 1914, serial 719698 has a 26-inch barrel (Marble Sheard front blade with brass bead, King rear sight) with full-length magazine tube. Features include checkering, capped pistol grip with engraved screw, crescent butt plate and a checkered hammer spur. No letter or known history. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.0 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.2 inches. CONDITION: The bore shows strong rifling, mild browning and a trace of roughness under magnification. Metal finish over the barrel and magazine tube is approximately 65 percent. Action finish has silvered and browned. The crescent has silvered and tarnished. Wood is solid and stands at approximately 50 percent with thinned finish and a generous distribution of field-related beauty marks. Grip cap is very good. All markings are tack sharp. Barrel fit is tight, the takedown function is smooth and mechanics are solid. The muzzle and crown areas show some roughness and pressure dings. Action has some peening on right side. The rear of the hammer appears to have been polished while all else appears to be original. The price is firm and layaway is available. $5,500 plus shipping.
