This is a Kokura marked rifle with intact 'mum, that has mismatched bolt and retains 92-95% of the original blue, with some mild silvering at the muzzle, on the high edges and projections, and some further gray fading on the bearing surfaces of the bolt. The rear sight is still equipped with the anti-aircraft "wings", and the original monopod is still present. The stock and handguard are in good shape, with numerous handling marks and surface blemishes scattered throughout the original varnish finish as befits a battlefield captured rifle. An unknown inventory marking is present on the left side of the buttstock in white grease pencil: "KO 20". The cleaning rod is still in place, and an original heavily worn rubberized canvas sling is installed. Also included is a Kokura-marked Type 30 bayonet with hooked quillon. The blade has about 75-80% of the original thinning blue remaining, with a commensurate amount of blue remaining on the hilt. The wooden grip panels are in very good shape and the metal scabbard has a few shallow dents along its length. This is a very good Type 99 overall, and would make an excellent addition to any collection.
