Description:
This is a full box, 20 rounds, of .40-70 ammunition manufactured by Winchester containing "w" primer cartridges with soft point bullet loading. The interesting early Black powder labeled box is missing the scarce red "Metal Patched" label that would be expected for the soft point bullets present. The labels have very nice graphics showing some old repair with side labels having scuffs and large areas of flaking. The top has been repaired with some seam separation present on the corners and has some writing as does the bottom portion. Scarce no matter what the cartridges are in excellent condition and may, in fact, be native but perhaps not to this box.
