Description:
This is an original model 1860 calvary carbine. This one is an early example actually made by the Spencer firearms company. It is marked Spencer Repeating Rifle CO. Boston Mass. Pat'd March 6th, 1860. The serial number of 37385 of the first 50,000 that were made in 1863. Late War models were made by the Burnside Arms company in Providence R.I. and are marked as such. This carbine saw service during the last 3 years of the Civil War. The stock behind the sling bar has two cartouches meaning it was inspected by U.S. ordinance inspectors and used by the Union Calvary. Shipping is $45.00 to most states.
