Colt SA .45 cal.-w/5.5 inch barrel-Shipped to Novell Shapleigh HDV, St. Louis, MO 1 April 1911 in the blue; stocks not listed..
The SA was sold to a dealer in Tucson, AZ by an elderly woman who told the dealer that she was from New Mexico and the gun had belonged to her husband. The gun was subsequently engraved and the sterling silver Navajo style grips installed. The engraver did not sign his work and the grips are not stamped by the silversmith which is very unusual.The Colt is is very good shape and cycles correctly; the bore is in need of a good cleaning.
The pictures will show the beauty of the gun and the excellent work of the engraver.
I will trade this gun for a clean Winchester 66, rifle or carbine.
