****SOLD**** Here we have a historical Colt Single Action Cavalry revolver chambered in .45 Colt caliber. There is probably no more iconic handgun silhouette in American history than that of the Colt Single Action Army. The Model 1873, known alternatively as the Model P, Peacemaker and by a variety of creative nicknames was the final result nearly a decade’s worth of effort by Colt to bring the next generation of handguns to the US military. The photos of the letter of authenticity give all the details of the gun but because of it's serial number falling in-between others that were used by Custer's army in the Battle of Little Big Horn it would indicate that this example was also. The revolver is "US" marked. The finish has worn to a handsome warm grey gun metal patina. The action works as it should and lock up in the "fired" condition is very good. There are some pressure marks on the grip panels and one small chip on the bottom front of the left side grip. This is an opportunity to own a truly historical piece that would also be a good investment.
