Payment Types Accepted: Money Order, Certified Check Description: This is about as nice of a 40+ Year Old Colt Dragoon Reproduction as you'll find. It's a 1st Model Dragoon, early F Series 2nd Generation that was made around 1980. Serial number is in the 32,000 range with an original black box with sealed manuals which is a few hundred numbers off the gun (likely an inadvertent swap at the gun shop from which it sold new decades ago). I can remember my dad buying me my first rifle, a Winchester 9422 back around 1984. I wanted a standard plain vanilla 9422 but all Winchester was building back then were 9422 XTR's with the fancy checkering. I looked all over for to no avail. Finally found one in the covered in dust chained to a pole in the aisle of an old Sentry Hardware Store. It was made in 1974 and had sat unnoticed for a decade waiting for me. My dad bought it for my birthday and when he came home with it...it was in a Green Remington Model 700 Box. He said they looked all over in the back but couldn't find the original box for it so they hoped this would suffice. So, this box on this Colt being a few hundred off doesn't surprise me...the clerk probably grabbed the wrong one in haste with a customer waiting at the cash register and theybe been together this way for probably 40 years or more. It is unfired and the cylinder does not look turned...no wear on the stops or drag line. In fact, there isn't even wear on the face of the cylinder. It's just been sitting in the box. Frame, hammer, loading lever have all of the bright case colors with nicely blued barrel and cylinder. Walnut grips look perfect and even have a little bit of figure in the grain. Box is in Very Good condition with no tears and original plastic bag. Since this is Percussion, it qualifies as an Antique under Federal Law.
