Description:
For your consideration, a Colt U.S. Army Model 1901 D.A. 38 chambered in .38 Colt. This piece bears British proofs on the right barrel, the left frame bears the L.E.B. cipher of Colt Inspector, Leroy E. Briggs, and the grips and cylinder breech face bear the R.A.C. cipher of Rinaldo A. Carr, inspector for Remington during that firm's refurbishment of this model. Of note to potential buyers, the cylinder does not match the rest of the numbered components. Between the wear and blemishes, the original iridescent blued finish still shines through. This piece dates to 1899. .38 Colt
