Description:
For consideration is a very nice Glock G22 semi auto pistol chambered in .40 SW caliber. It is derived from the Glock 17, but chambered for the larger .40 S&W round. It uses a modified slide, frame, .40 S&W barrel and magazine but is otherwise near identical in looks to the Glock 17 and is available with 10, 15, or 17 round magazines. One notable feature of the Glock 22, and indeed many modern .40 S&W pistols, is the ability to change the caliber to .357 SIG with a simple barrel swap. This is possible due to the similar operating pressures of both rounds, and the fact that the .357 Sig is based on a .40 S&W case, necked down to accept .355 inch bullets. The .40 S&W is a rimless pistol cartridge developed jointly by American firearms manufacturers Smith & Wesson and Winchester in 1990. The .40 S&W was developed as a law enforcement cartridge designed to duplicate performance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) reduced-velocity 10mm Auto cartridge which could be retrofitted into medium-frame (9mm size) semi-automatic handguns. It uses 0.40-inch diameter bullets ranging in weight from 105 to 200 grains. This particular example is in very good condition exhibiting very little handling and use marks. The extractor has lost so little finish from being struck by ejected brass that it's evident that this pistol has been shot VERY little. The bottom of the left side of the grip has a few scuffs probably from rubbing against objects while being holstered in a right handed holster. Excellent pistol that would make a great duty pistol or home defense gun. Standard Glock sights are installed. Glock box and two magazines are included.
