EARLY 1900s Era ENGLISH BOXLOCK Shotgun
Here we present a C&R British Frank Dyke & Company Boxlock Double Barrel Side by Side Hammerless Shotgun, made circa the early 1900s in England.
England and Belgium were the epicenters for European gunmaking all the way through the turn of the century. This is an English fowling piece that is elegant in its simplicity and practicality. It weighs 6.4 lbs., making it a pleasure to carry. It has a single trigger for both bores. The maker’s name is on top of the barrel rib. The underside of the barrels have Birmingham proofs including Nitro from circa 1904-1925. This double barrel hammerless gun would have been used for putting game on the table or spending an afternoon shooting clays.
The overall condition is fine. The actions are excellent. The bores are shiny bright and smooth. The numbers match. The stock is solid and in great shape. There are two small holes in the bottom barrel rib and one in the underside of the stock where a sling swivel used to be. A very nice gun.
