Description:
This is a Winchester Model 97 Trench Shotgun 12 gauge from WW2 used by the US Military. SN 160XXX. This is a takedown model with an exposed hammer that retains 80% of the original finish. The "GHD" with crossed cannons cartouche is found on the left side of the walnut stock. The left side of the receiver has the "U.S."stamp with the ordnance "flaming bomb." The "flaming bomb" is visible on the top of the barrel. The Winchester Firearms stamp is still visible above the barrel. This trench shotgun still has its original ventilated handguard and walnut stock. Considering its use in WW2 and the age, the walnut stock has minimal wear and no major cracks. Overall, this is a fine example of a US WW2 Trench Shotgun that would bring life to any high-end military collection.
