Description:
This is an original shoulder stock attachment for the Smith and Wesson New Model Number 3 Revolvers which was the successor to the American, Russian, and Schofield Models of the early to mid 1870's.  The New Model 3 was produced from about 1878 to 1911 as I recall with all frames being Pre-1898 Antiques. The stocks were a rare accessory.   This one has a metal buttplate and is nickel plated.  You see these stocks usually with Australian marks which were used by their forces over there  but this one appears to be Civilian as it has no Aussie Markings or Broad Arrows.   Stock has most of its original varnish...about 90% with some flaking.  My digital camera made the wood appear a bit darker what you see in the photos...it's a lighter honey brown in person.  The nickel is about the same...90% remaining with some blistering but pretty good overall given it's 140 years old.  $25.00 shipping.  Sorry, No International Sales.
