Merwin Hulbert & Co Early Model Pocket Army single action revolver. 44-40 Caliber. Six-shot scoop fluted cylinder. 3 5/16” barrel. Nickel plated barrel, cylinder, and frame. Case color hardened hammer and trigger guard. Hard rubber grips and bird’s head butt. Barrel markings on left side: HOPKINS & ALLEN M’F’G CO. NORWICH, CONN. USA PAT. JAN. 24, APRIL 21, DEC. 15, ’74. AUG. 3 75, JULY 11, ’76, APR. 17, ’77, PATS, MAR. 6 ’77. Right side of frame marked: MERWIN HULBERT AND CO., N.Y. POCKET ARMY. Left side of the frame marked: CALIBRE WINCHESTER 1873. Matching serial #’s 2892 and 3053 on frame and under grips. 

The barrel, cylinder and frame features factory "punch dot" floral engraving. The frame features a stag motif on the left side near the grip. Retains 90% of the original nickel plating. The bore is in good condition with very minor pitting in places. Family history states the piece was owned by General Crooks around the time of Geronimo’s War in the 1880’s, however without documentation. Manufactured 1878-1882. F\
