Description:
This Husqvarna 640 was built on a transitional FN Mauser action. It retains the internal C collar and stripper clip hump of the original 98 Mauser military actions, but has a solid side rail with no thumb cutout. The C collar and solid side rail actions were made for only a short time and represent the best of both worlds for a sporter rifle. Later FN's and other Mauser clones would switch to the H type collar, sacrificing strength for ease of machining.
The metal on this 640 is very good with an excellent bore. There are handling marks on the beechwood stock and a broken plastic buttplate. Overall a great rifle in very good condition and built on one of the best actions made.
