Description:
This is a beautiful 100% original and unmolested "late war" Model 1935 German Army / Heer Officer's Dagger with it's original scabbard and an ivory white colored grip.  This dagger was likely made in 1942 right before production was halted in 1943 and is unmarked with no maker mark.  The Heer Officer's Dagger was discontinued in 1943 because the war had turned against them badly and what materials and labor they did have needed to concentrate 100% on weapons of war and not dress daggers, etc..  The M.1935 Heer Officer's Dagger was worn by all commisioned officers and senior NCO's (NCO's with permission from their superiors) and was made by a large number of companies from huge corporations to mom and pop cottage shops  With all of the dagger components available for purchase individually from a number of the larger manufacturers, a small-time home-based business could buy the parts and hand-fit the parts together as well as add additional detail or special order options to help fill government contracts or sell them as private purchase items.  This particular dagger likely came from this cottage industry, where the vast majority of the time the maker did not mark their name on the dagger's blade or anywhere else for that matter.
As you can see from the pictures, this dagger is very handsome and very clean.  It is in excellent shape from top to bottom.  The only deductions come from some VERY light dusty rust in a few spots on the blade, and a few tiny handling marks on the remainder of the dagger.  Equally as important, it has never been heavily cleaned or had the blade polished as all of the original crossgrain is still visible on the blade and  it has never been sharpened.  The little rust that is there could easily be cleaned off and made to look near perfect with some care and elbow grease.  The ivory white handle is beautiful, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or visible wear and damage of any kind.  The grip is superb and beautiful, and like many others I think that it is the most handsome color you could get between all of the options.  The Nazi Germany Army Eagle crossguard is in great shape, as-is the 12-leaf pommel cap.  The glossy plated finish on all of the handle parts is in excellent condition.  Unlike many you will find, the handle and all of the fittings are 100% tight with NO wiggle of any kind, as-is the blade to the handle.  The pommel cap and the threaded portion of the tang both have clean un-buggered threads.  The original leather buffer pad is still intact inside the crossguard on this one, usually missing on most you will see.  The original scabbard with this Heer Officer's Dagger is in equally as beautiful shape as the dagger itself.  It is free from any dents, repairs, visible wear, or major damage.  The scabbard shows only some tiny handling marks under close inspection.  The dagger and scabbard mate to each other perfectly and the dagger stays tight inside it. Both of the hanger rings on the scabbard as well as the throat piece are tight to the scabbard and in excellent condition.
If you have been looking for a high condition and 100% original German Model 1935 Army Officer's Dagger from WW2 for your collection or to display with a German handgun from WW2, this example would be an excellent choice and extremely hard to upgrade from.  As an unmarked but all-original piece in excellent condition, it is a bargain at $495
