Description:
Standard 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with a bright shiny bore. Barrel and full length mag tube retain nearly all of the original bright blue. Sharp corners and crisp markings. Original sights include a German silver blade front and a Winchester sporting rear. Receiver has most all of it's original blue. Tight fitting dust cover has thinning blue. Loading gate has bright fire blue. Hammer and lever retain good case colors with some more vivid in protected areas. Crescent rifle style buttplate also shows good color. Walnut stocks are in very good condition while retaining most varnish. Crisp action. Copy of a factory letter verifying configuration. This is a fantastic example of a beautiful 3rd Model 1873 rifle in the desirable 44-40 caliber made in 1889. Hard to improve upon.
