Founded in 1921, SAKO is a world renown rifle manufacturer located in Finland. This rifle sn178574 was manufactured around 1979/80 and is also known as the Model L461. It has Sako’s slick short action bolt, a hinged floorplate and is chambered in the .222 Remington cartridge. Its Carbine length 20” barrel is fully protected by a Mannlicher style stock with metal cap. The barrel has a mirror bore and 99% Factory bluing with some field wear on the cap- doing its job- protecting the crown! The stocks flat bottom is designed to give a stable shooting platform when resting the gun on a branch or fence rail. The short action is smooth and fast, the receiver shows 99% Factory original blue. The trigger breaks crisply at 4lb. The rifle is fitted with a hooded front blade with gold bead and a Williams adjustable rear U notch sight. This example is also fitted with the desirable Zeiss Terra 2-7x32mm scope. Its Duplex reticle is crisp and clear, these scopes sell for over $500 on their own merits! The walnut stock exhibits some nice figure and has hand cut checkering, it has a Monte Carlo stock with cheek piece and is finished with a Sako hard rubber plate and white spacer.
