Early pre 1955 Smith & Wesson 5 screw Double Action Target Revolver. 6" barrel adjustable sights, solid ribbed barrel, target hammer, grooved trigger with target shoe. This revolver has a pinned barrel, and the serial number is also stamped on the cylinder. Serial Is K238772. The original factory bluing is easily 95% plus, there are a couple of wear areas. Rear edge of cylinder, typical, A brite spot on the rear of the trigger guard, a brite spot on the rib 1/4 from the muzzle, Color case remains strong on the hammer and the triger.. What is most unusual about this revolver is the target grips. I do not know if they are actual Smith & Wesson but they are perfectly fitted to this revolver. They look to be factory with the Diamond at the retention screw but I just do not know. I purchased this revolver from a collector/shooter several years ago. It was his wifes revolver for bullseye pistol shooting. One of the finest used five screw target revolvers I have seen in my several years of collecting Smith & Wessons.
