Description:
The Savage 340 is the definition of plain rifle. There is nothing fancy on them. They are made to be tools to take hunting and controlling pests. This one is chambered in .30--30 Winchester and has open sights. There are two drilled and filled holes in the receiver for a receiver sight. The exterior has seen a bit of use, but the bore is good. They were always quite popular and were marketed as both Savage 340 and as house brands for Sears, Wards, Penney's and Western Auto. Boy, doesn't that date me. .30-30 Winchester
