Description:
Remington Model 513-S. This is the sporting version of the much more common 513-T. There were about 14000 of these made between 1940 and 1957 and this one may be the SP designation that denotes the factory applied target sight on the rear and the globe style front sight. The action is very smooth and clean with a nice trigger. The block looks to be factory applied on the left side of the action, case colored, with a matching aperture point-crometer sight, factory sight is in place where the rear factory open sight would be located. The barrel is 26" with good blue and a very clean bore. The Remington markings are light and the blue is a bit duller than my other 513-S rifles so this may have been reblued. The stock is clean with nice finish and chequering that I believe has been redone, the job was well done. These are adult size rifles with a 13 3/4" length of pull and above average balance.
