Description:
A unique combo gun from German manufacturer J. Schilling of Coberg. All guns at this time were custom-built for the person ordering it, there was no mass production. So, no two J. Schilling firearms are the same. This one is no exception. Dual hammers for the shotgun/rifle, the beautiful engraving on all the recever parts and the amazing Walnut furniture make it a stand-out collectable. The shot gun barrel is damascus, the rifle side appears forged. Another nice feature is the fold down rear notch sight with a smaller nothch for precision shooting and a standard notch for fast target aquisition. Known issues are, a missing end cap on the fore-end, the rib is loose and the rifle hammer does not engage the sear. Date of manufacture is impossible to know, but the best guess is around 1890. Although the Schilling family had been making firearms since the mid 1600's. Unknown
