Description:
This is a model 1884 Springfield Trap door in 45-70 govt with a ramrod spike bayonet. The bore is shinny. This is above average condition with traces of the Case coloring still showing on the tang and on the breach (trap door). I personally really like the butt stock sliding cover on the "tool holder" instead of the thumb nail killing spring loaded round cover. The stock has figure showing in multiple location crisp cartouches the hooded sight is removable. There is a chip in the wood missing to the left of the sidelock. The front sight blade has been replaced with one capable of 100 yd shots. the original sight blade also comes with the rifle. Just a beautiful firearm.
