Description:
This Musket was made in 1915 as one of the 800 special order 1899 Military Muskets for the Montreal Home Guard. They were to guard the Canadian boarder from a German invasion during WW1. These were ordered with 26 inch barrels and bayonets with scabbards and a rack number on the buttplate tangs. Features a 26 inch round barrel chambered in 303 Savage with a very good bore. Blade front and flip-up military style rear sights. Bayonet lug and MHG Savage bayonet. Receiver is mostly a brown color. Military style stocks with sling swivels. Carbine style buttplate. Overall gun is in very good condition. The wood has been lightly cleaned and a nice finish applied. Barrel retains a considerable amount of original blue. MHG rack number "205" is stamped on the buttplate tang. Crisp action. Serial number is only 8 digits away from another Savage Carbine we offer.
