This FN49 is an excellent piece. It is one of 8,003 known. This rifle is found to be matching numbers with no visible import marks. Venezuelan Crest is stamped on receiver; right side is stamped, "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE - HERSTAL BELGIQUE."
It is believed the Venezuelan FN49 is the only semi-auto rifle ever produced to fire the 7x57 Mauser rifle cartridge.
Original finish is in excellent condition for its age and use. Stock cartouches are very sharp and very clear. Stock does display various handling and storage marks as typically seen on military surplus pieces.
Barrel displays threaded muzzle with no muzzle break. Bore condition is strong and shiny.
