Description: General Specs: Luciano Bosis, Year 1991, 20/28 Gauge, 6lb 5oz, Chokes LM/F; F/F, LOP 14 15/16", DAH 2 3/16", DAC 1 7/16" Serial Number: 684 Vintage Firearms has honestly represented fine guns from around the globe for decades. Today we have something special, a one-of-a-kind offering from one of the world’s most prestigious gunmakers, Luciano Bosis. Building only 15 or so BESPOKE GUNS PER YEAR, EACH MADE TO ORDER BY HAND WITH THE FINEST MATERIALS AND BY THE MOST SKILLED ARTISANS ON THE PLANET, BOSIS HAS CREATED INNOVATIVE AND IMPROVED SHOTGUN ACTIONS SINCE THE 1970’S. The gun shown here is unique in many ways. First it is a factory 2-barrel set in 20 and 28 gauge, with desirable chopper lump barrels 29 ½” long. Second, it is a pinless sidelock action of unique design, with lockplates that resemble the vintage Rigby sidelock guns in shape. This is NOT the Bosis Queen Model, which is most often seen and has Holland & Holland style locks. The firing mechanism does not have the long main springs that require steel to be machined out of the action for their presence. Instead, as shown in the photos, the mechanisms are compact and contained toward the rear of the locks, thereby leaving much more steel in the action for strength. This stunning masterpiece, sn684 built in 2019, brings versatility with the 20 and 28-gauge barrels, the gun weighing 6lbs. 5oz. with either set and both balancing on the hinge pin, a near impossible feat in the gun world. Usually, the 28ga. set on the 20ga. frame is heavier and less dynamic. Not so with this gun. The gun remains in what appears to be unfired condition with no primer marks around the firing pin holes and the metal retaining 100% of the brilliant factory finishes. This gun exhibits all the BEST GUN FEATURES, including chopper lump barrels, sculpted frame, beaded and carved fences, articulated front trigger, intercepting sears, beetle back safety, stocked to the fences with drop points, checkered butt with skip-line checkering, and cased in the finest quality Italian leather case with trade label and accessories. The fit and finish is flawless. The engraving is signed by G.S. Pedretti (Stefano Pedretti), one of the top engravers in the world, and is simple elegance defined, with graceful bank note style scroll and deeply shaded background. Nothing gaudy or overdone but stunning none-the-less. The wood can be described in similar terms, with strongly contrasting mineral streaks in the marbled European walnut. Please see the specifications below. Keep in mind that our full-time gunsmiths can alter stock dimensions or chokes at your request. It would take years to take delivery of a custom-order Bosis, and the cost would be double what we are asking for this “as new” gun, ready for you now and the upcoming bird season. Buying the finest gun available is personally rewarding, but also a strong, inflation-proof investment, as the BEST holds it value and appreciates while you enjoy its use. Thanks for looking!
