C&R Pocket Pistol John Browning Design w/HOLSTER & Extra MAGAZINE Here we present a C&R Fabrique Nationale Model 1910, made circa 1938, sometime around the beginning of World War II in Belgium with a production run between 1910 and 1983. The FN Model 1910 is a blowback-operated, semi-automatic pistol designed by John Moses Browning and manufactured by Fabrique Nationale of Belgium. The Model 1910, also known as the Browning Model 1910, was a departure for Browning. Before, his designs were produced by both Fabrique National in Europe and Colt Firearms in the United States. During this era, Colt and FN had an agreement not to infringe on each other’s territory, Colt chose not to produce it. So, Browning chose to patent and produce this design in Europe only. Production began in 1910 and continued up to the start of World War I, when production stopped. Production was restarted in 1919 following the end of World War I with serial numbers starting at 70,000. Production stopped in 1940 (German Occupation) around serial number 460,000, making this example produced just before Germany overran Belgium. There was approximately a total of 700,000 produced. Historically speaking, an FN Model 1910, serial number 19074, was the handgun used by Gavrilo Princip to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo on June 28, 1914, the act that precipitated the First World War. During both World War I and World War II, the FN 1910 was used by the militaries of Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Finland, and Japan. The over condition is good. Strong action.
