Description:
winchester 1886 deluxe light rifle. This has the deluxe high grade wood with a checkered pistol grip stock and ebony inlay. 26" light weight 1/2 octagon barrel, 1/2 magazine tube, and a single set trigger. the bore is in good condition with scattered light frosting typical of the age. the receiver has a pattern 21 rear sight installed, and the barrel has no rear sight dovetail leading me to believe that this sight was factory intsalled. Gun was originaly shipped in 1894 as a 40-82 30" extra heavy, but was returned in 1911 for repair returned as a 45-70 govt. light weight rifle. This gun comes with a cody letter the big drawback of this particular gun is that it has been reblued at some point in its past, with not so great polish work, thus the drastic drop in price. a very fair price for a good entry level 1886, or a good one to take out and use.
