The makers sink at the breech end of the barrels is Walter which would be the 1735 year listing. Bores are approximately .55 caliber. Barrel lengths are 12 inches overall length is 16 ½". The brass furniture is all engraved and chiseled not the less desirable casting method of metal embellishment. The top of the grip area is inlaid with a shield atop of which is a crown with a very small mother of pearl cross inlaid. The sideplate features a raised figure of a dog facing a fantasy figure of a sea creature also raised. Both of these figures are in excellent detail. The barrels are engraved with figures of a helmeted man and woman in the roman manner. The barrels, cocks and locks are “in the white".
