This is a scarce Winchester M97 WWI trench shotgun from around 1918. It has original US markings with the flaming bomb on the right receiver. Original stock with Winchester buttplate and a sling swivel. A 6-row heat shield/bayonet lug combo has a patent marking on the right side. 20.5 inch barrel has a "cyl" marking on the left side. The condition is very nice with some dulling/patination of the blue on the receiver, barrel and more so on the mag tube under the barrel. The wood has small scratches and small dings with minimal finish loss. The buttplate has a small gouge on top. It does not appear to be a crack. The are small scratches and dings on the heat shield. Everything looks functional and the gun dry fires.
US marked WWI trench shotguns are very uncommon as most were unmarked. This one is definitely one of the better ones you would find.
