Description:
L.C. Smith Field Grade Built 1942. This is a nice gun in a rare configuration with 28" barrels and ejectors. There were a total of 2375 .410 Gauge guns made in Field grade made from 1918 to 1950. The action is case colored with the finish being mottled, most of the wear is on the bottom of the frame and on top, none of the mottling has gone to pitting, action is tight on the face and judging from the standing breech, the gun has been fired very little, double triggers, ejectors are strong and well timed. The barrels are 28" with as new bores that measure .410 and .409, both chokes are .020 or Mod, 2 3/4" chamber, blue is strong, full length solid rib, brass mid and muzzle end beads, Armor steel marked. The stock is a pistol grip/ splinter with original chequering and finish, there are handling marks throughout, the finish looks to be original, 14" length of pull to a factory plate, 2 1/2' drop at heel, 1 1/2" drop at comb. This gun has great dimensions and balance. It is a good candidate for a light restoration. 6lbs 1oz Consignment, please make any offers via E-mail. 1FWE2004921 WSSSPW $5500.00
