Presented for consideration is an outstanding Winchester Super-X Model 1 field shotgun in 12 gauge. The all-machined steel and walnut approach is time-consuming and expensive. Winchester designed and built complete new machining centers for the Super-X Model 1, but despite the time and effort, the Model 1 was costly to produce. In 1973-1974, the Winchester Super-X Model 1 was the best-built gas autoloader on the planet. It is rumoured that Winchester lost money on every one they manufactured. This shotgun is very well made with no compromises and incorporates machined steel and fine walnut. This particular example is in outstanding condition mechanically and physically. The gun exhibits only the slightest of handling marks. The barrel has a vent rib, bright bore and is choked fixed modified. The vent rib has a mid bead and front bead. The cut checkering is sharp. The loading gate and bolt are jeweled. The action is smooth and sure. This is a very nice gun and would make a good investment and an outstanding field gun.
