Description:
Winchester model of 1866 Chambered in .44 Henry Rimfire wearing a 22 inch octagon barrel and Brass buttplate. Without a letter from Winchester it's unknown what barrel length this rifle was born with. Made in 1873 in the New Haven Ct. factory. Rifle remains in very good condition and action operates as intended. Beautiful aged Gold patina on Brass parts with much of original Blued finish remaining on barrel. Nice wood stock that appears original with sling fittings and swivels. Folding ladder type rear sight with pinned front blade. Decent bore with rifling. Overall a very presentable example of an Icon of the American West. Rifle built in 1873 the very same year Colt started manufacture of the SAA for the US Army. Antique firearm , can be shipped direct.
