Offering for sale a long time favorite of mine a early Winchester 1886 with two special order features , one being the steel shotgun style butt plate and the second being the special order 28" octagon barrel, 26" being standard. Most came with the crescent style butt plate but as any experienced shooter will agree if you like to shoot the shotgun style is a whole lot easier on your shoulder. some folks don't shoot, I guess they like to look at them . This sn 70606 rifle was Mfg'd in 1892 making this ole gal 131 years old. Bore is great , shoots dead on. Comes the way I believe she started out with the Lyman front and rear sights. Not sanded , the receivers were milled outa a forty ounce block of forged steel and case colored along with the forearm cap, she shows neither. Was used as it shows , a small sliver crack behind upper tang which is just surface nothing more and a few other dents in the wood but overall a fine condition rifle in this sought after caliber. Not many offered anymore mostly 33's, guys are hanging on to the big stuff.
