Description:
A really unique and nicely-done percussion rifle from an unknown maker.  This rifle is in .63 caliber and has a 32" rifled bore.  The bore is excellent with clear sharp rifling and the barrel appears to have a damascene pattern applied to it (it is not damascus).  The wood is excellent with some light small handling marks, and the metal is also excellent for its age with a light patina/freckling.  LOP is 14 1/4", weight is 6 3/4 lbs.

Lightly-engraved lockwork by Payton & Co in London, light engraving also on tang, trigger guard and buttplate.  Hickory ramrod with brass tip and handle.  Has an Express-style rear sight with 2 additional flip-up leaves for longer distances.

The single-set trigger looks complete  but is not functioning correctly.  Adjustments have no effect and when the trigger is set, the hammer only falls to the half-cock position.  If the trigger is NOT set, the hammer will drop all the way to the cap/nipple.
