The Smith & Wesson® M&P® Bodyguard 38 Double-Action Revolver comes with a polymer Crimson Trace® laser sight module housing, mounted on the right side of the frame. A small button on the top of the module controls the unit with a simple push of the finger. The laser sight module is removable, if so desired, and a pinned front sight and a grooved top strap serve as backup sights. The laser sight unit interferes minimally with the revolver's sleek, concealed-carry design. The Bodyguard 38, chambered in .38 Special, employs an aluminum cylinder frame with an integrated barrel/ejector rod shroud; a stainless steel barrel insert fits inside of the barrel shroud. The 5-shot, +P rated cylinder is made of PVD-coated stainless steel. To further reduce weight, the lower frame assembly, consisting of the grip frame and trigger guard, is made of polymer. A concealed hammer prevents the gun from snagging while being drawn from a holster, pocket, or purse. The ambidextrous cylinder release lever on the upper grip frame allows quick engagement with either hand.
