Description:
This is a fine example of guns privately made in the early years of Western expansion ca.1830--1860. This demonstraits the reuse of a demilitarized .69cal US eagle head and  asst.proof musket barrel. At a time when barrals were scarce and expensive after the war of 1812 and before the civil war.  A time when settlers started moving west, and everyone neede at least one firearm those that could afford it had two ( or more ) the less affluent relied on a smooth bore weapon of larger caliber that could act as the rifle ( patched  ball )and shotgun. This is in very nice condition.very good bore. Nice solid attractive walnut stock. The lock is a heavy duty lock in excellent working condition. Please feel free to ask any questions.
