Smith & Wesson Post War 38/44 Heavy Duty.
This model was the first N frame, she comes in 38 Special caliber.
4 in barrel, rare shrouded extractor rod, round front blade sight with a short throw hammer.
From what I have deduced She left Springfield Mass in 1949. The gun is in excellent condition, bright S&W finish, no sign of Wear and of course no rust, the barrel doesn't show much of any wear.
As you can imagine this is a heavy gun being that it is a 38 Special a rare piece
