Description:
Offering an immaculate example of a Marlin model 1889 rifle,in 38-40 cal. Manufactured in 1894 this rifle retains over 95% of it's original blue on Barrel and magazine. 24" barrel with full length magazine, Receiver still shows about 75 to 80% of it's original charcoal blue, Loading gate shows no wear what so ever. Color case is visible everywhere but faded by time, less on butt plate but no rust or pitting. The receiver has 2 holes on the left side drilled and tapped, probably for a receiver sight that was never installed. Very possibly done at factory. There is no evidence (scratches, shadow or anything else) that would indicate that anything was ever there.The bore is factory new, doubtful that it was ever fired. I've seen as good in new rifles but never better. Wood is in good to very good condition, with all original finish. Possibly closet kept and met a vacuum cleaner once or twice.
