EXCELLENT CIVIL WAR HARPERS FERRY U.S. MODEL 1855 RIFLE MUSKET DATED 1858. Desirable 1858 dated which have the Long Range rear sights and brass forend caps not seen on the later dated Model 1855’s. Considered a Confederate Secondary Martial arm as nearly all were supplied to Southern State Militias before the start of the war. 100% original as issued and with all the original parts including the Maynard Tape Primer parts and the ramrod. Lock and barrel dated 1858 and lock with very sharp “U.S./HARPERS FERRY” stamp . Tape primer door with “EAGLE/SHIELD” motif. Beat of these we have with this date with much original military arsenal bright finish. Stock with all the original finish with very light handling patina. Has two near mint Ordnance cartouches on the side panel. Perfect working order and extra nice bore with very sharp rifling. Exceptional 1858 example very hard to find in this condition as surviving examples very heavily used thru the whole war.
