Description:
SOLD   This Winchester was produced in 1938. The rifle's serial number is 35223. It has the very desirable octagonal barrel chambered for the 22 W.R.F. cartridge. The bore is in very nice clean condition. This rifle has been shot, but used very lightly. The sights are original to this Winchester. The factory rust bluing would rate a 97% or better condition! The stock and pump handle retain all of the original finish. There is no cracks or other wood damage. The year 1938 was the year that Winchester started using the longer pump handle as standard instead of the earlier smaller handle on these model 61's. This is also the same year that Winchester stopped using the reinforced magazine locking lip on their magazines. This rifle has two first's going for this gun! This rifle is a very fine condition early 61 With that beautiful Rust Bluing! These early rifles are really beautiful works of art! Here is one of these fine rifles!
