Description:
Very rare Westley Richards, this gun made in 1938 for Willis Barrett & Duncan according to the maker's authentication letter. The gun is a beautiful heavy proof pigeon gun made with 30" barrels, splinter forend, double triggers, extractors (my favorite set up!) round knob pistol grip English Walnut buttstock with original lined horn buttplate. Proved for 2-3/4" chambers and 1-1/4oz loads and made with slightly raised rib. Gun is beautifully engraved en-suite with pigeon motif and scroll. Housed in a modern green cavnas and leather case and comes with makers supplied research and authentication letters.
The gun remains in beautiful all original condition. Barrels with more than 97% original blue. Frame with more than 90% original beautiful rainbow case hardening remaining. Top lever and triggerplate with nearly all of their original blue. Stocks are beautiful and original with nearly all of their original finish remaining with only minor handling marks. Case is excellent overall.
This is a very rare Westley and finding these all original heavy proof guns from between the wars is not an easy thing to do! This fine Westley is priced at $10,500 plus shipping to your FFL.
